Call it belief, call it a gut call, but Dani Dennis-Sutton at No. 46 is 37 spots clear of consensus, and that is the headline.
The Roush pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged. A whole weekend of picks and interior defensive lineman is somehow still a want.
Hit on Akheem Mesidor and the swing picks, and this ages a lot better than it grades today.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 15 they get a problem off the edge, a steep price for the projection.
Value said wait; Dani Dennis-Sutton in the Round 2 slot says they were not listening. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Deontae Lawson at the 77th overall pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A minor itch, scratched.
Sam Roush in pick 116 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
George Gumbs Jr. at pick No. 155 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
A market-rate wide receiver, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Kendrick Law. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
A tidy little value on TJ Hall in slot 229, a step better than break-even. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
