The value of the weekend has a name and a slot: Dae'Quan Wright, No. 214, roughly 33 picks past where he belonged. The bottom line is a respectable B-.
With quarterback, interior defensive lineman and other spots unsolved, spending premium capital on cornerback is the choice that costs them. That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick-by-Pick
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Brandon Cisse at the 47th overall pick is the proof. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Kyle Louis at slot 78 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Of all the spots to shop, they chose cornerback. Julian Neal in the 113th pick leaves quarterback, interior defensive lineman and other spots for later.
Value with a capital V on Malik Benson in pick 156, a genuine coup. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
They barely believed it either: Dae'Quan Wright still on the board at Round 6, Pick 33. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Robert Henry Jr. at the Round 7 slot nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Nolan Rucci in pick No. 254 is fair value, right on his grade. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
