For all the boxes ticked, the Falcons skipped the loudest one: offensive lineman is exactly as bare as it was. It does the job without flash, and the B- reflects it.
That Johnson pick is the receipt they will wave around later. They reloaded the coverage unit in bulk.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but offensive lineman.
Pick-by-Pick
A tidy little value on Keith Abney II in slot 48, a step better than break-even. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Antonio Williams slid further than he should have, and the 79th pick is lovely value for the wide receiver. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Emmett Johnson at Round 4, Pick 22 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. The roster fit checks out.
By-the-book stuff, Keyshaun Elliott at pick 215 squarely in line with his ranking. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
They paid sticker price for Robert Spears-Jennings in pick No. 231, and that is fine. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
