Call it larceny. Bucky Irving sat on the board until the 137th pick, and the Eagles did not need to be asked twice.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through edge rusher. They went 5 of 9 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for. Almost all the early capital went to that side of the ball.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a difference-maker at receiver at a price that makes it sweeter. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
You do not let a cornerback like Quinyon Mitchell reach pick No. 50 and blink. They did not. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
The board had Tyler Guyton higher than Round 2, Pick 22, and the offensive lineman fell to them anyway. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Marist Liufau in slot 97 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. A minor need, but a need all the same.
