No fireworks, just a tidy B- for the Jets.

The Jets did not so much draft Drew Allar as overpay for him, 53 picks clear of his grade. It sets an uneasy tone for the weekend.
That cornerback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. They went 5 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but cornerback.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 2 they get a premier pass rusher at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
In Round 1, Pick 16 they get protection for the quarterback. A clean fit for the roster.
Chris Brazzell II at slot 33 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the wide receiver. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Dontay Corleone at pick 44 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
A wild overpay on Drew Allar in the 103rd overall pick, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
No edge and no loss on Malik Benson in pick No. 140; it is a wash and a sensible one. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
