Somehow the biggest item on the list survived the weekend. The Broncos never addressed edge rusher, and it is the kind of gap that lingers. It nets out to a B-, which feels about right.
Perkins Jr. has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. However the rest shakes out, Stowers at that price is a win they earned.
On the needs board they went 6 of 8, with linebacker the one that mattered most. Almost all the early capital went to that side of the ball.
In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
Pick-by-Pick
The board had Eli Stowers higher than Round 2, Pick 30, and the tight end fell to them anyway. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Mike Washington Jr. at No. 108 is a conviction pick that outran the value. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
They talked themselves into Harold Perkins Jr. at the 111th overall pick, and the board did not agree. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
A market-rate interior defensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Zane Durant. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Value with a capital V on Fa'alili Fa'amoe in slot 246, a genuine coup. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
A reasonable price with a little left over, De'Zhaun Stribling in the 256th pick. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Wesley Bissainthe at the Round 7 slot is right where the board had him, plain and simple. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
