A respectable, level-headed haul for the Dolphins: B+.

There was a run on nobody at that position, and the Dolphins started one anyway for Eric Gentry, 125 picks ahead of schedule.

Green at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. The wide receiver spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.

The Moore pick is fine in a vacuum, less so with wide receiver still on the board.

Good work on the whole, with wide receiver the one box left unchecked.

Pick-by-Pick

R2.11 · Pick 43 · Gabe Jacas · LB-EDGE · rank 52
Gabe Jacas at pick No. 43 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
R3.11 · Pick 75 · Eli Stowers · TE · rank 53
Eli Stowers at No. 75 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
R3.18 · Pick 82 · Keionte Scott · CB · rank 60
Circle this one: Keionte Scott at the Round 3 slot is a fall that decides a draft. A minor itch, scratched.
R3.25 · Pick 89 · Michael Trigg · TE · rank 115
A real head-scratcher, Michael Trigg in the 89th overall pick is miles ahead of his ranking. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
R3.26 · Pick 90 · Jacob Rodriguez · LB · rank 72
The board fumbled Jacob Rodriguez all the way to Round 3, Pick 26, and they scooped it up. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
R3.27 · Pick 91 · Mike Washington Jr. · RB · rank 74
Mike Washington Jr. is a better player than pick 91 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
R3.29 · Pick 93 · Devin Moore · CB · rank 92
The eyebrow-raiser of the weekend. They went cornerback with Devin Moore while clear needs at wide receiver sat open.
R4.8 · Pick 108 · Darrell Jackson Jr. · DT · rank 103
Darrell Jackson Jr. in pick 108 lands just on the right side of the ledger. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
R4.11 · Pick 111 · Nicholas Singleton · RB · rank 108
Good price on Nicholas Singleton in slot 111, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
R4.26 · Pick 126 · Joe Royer · TE · rank 126
No drama and no debate, Joe Royer went about where he belonged in the Round 4 slot. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
R4.30 · Pick 130 · Dametrious Crownover · OT · rank 143
Dametrious Crownover in pick No. 130 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
R5.11 · Pick 151 · Zxavian Harris · DT · rank 154
A straight-up fair deal on Zxavian Harris at Round 5, Pick 11, value and slot in agreement. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
R5.30 · Pick 170 · Drew Allar · QB · rank 156
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Drew Allar at the 170th pick. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
R6.31 · Pick 212 · Taylen Green · QB · rank 186
You do not let a quarterback like Taylen Green reach No. 212 and blink. They did not. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
R7.11 · Pick 227 · Eric Gentry · LB · rank 352
This one needs a full-page explanation: Eric Gentry in pick 227, miles early. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
R7.19 · Pick 235 · Robert Spears-Jennings · S · rank 257
Robert Spears-Jennings at slot 235 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
R7.22 · Pick 238 · Bryce Foster · C · rank 251
They went early on Bryce Foster in the 238th pick, and the value did not follow. The roster fit checks out.
R7.40 · Pick 256 · Micah Morris · OG · rank 323
A big swing on Micah Morris at Round 7, Pick 40, well ahead of any board in the building. A need, and now a little less of one.
