Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Nicholas Singleton got past him. The Cowboys do not have to explain a thing at the 171st pick.
The Williams reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
They went 5 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for. The offense got the lion's share of the attention.
In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
