The Ravens clearly saw something nobody else did in Jalen Huskey, taking him 58 picks ahead of his grade. The board is not convinced. It does the job without flash, and the B- reflects it.
A whole weekend of picks and cornerback is somehow still a want. However the rest shakes out, Trigg at that price is a win they earned.
They left with interior defensive lineman solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but cornerback.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 14 they get a plug-and-play piece up front, reach and all. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
A conviction pick on Jake Slaughter at pick 45 that the board grades a round light. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Jacob Rodriguez in the 80th overall pick is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Value with a capital V on Michael Trigg in slot 115, a genuine coup. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Zane Durant. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
No drama and no debate, Reggie Virgil went about where he belonged in Round 5, Pick 22. It fills a real need, too.
They liked Taylen Green enough to skip the value, taking him in the 173rd overall pick. The roster fit checks out.
Jalen Huskey at pick No. 174 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
