The Chargers did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Ja'Kobi Lane fell into pick 123. No fireworks, but a solid B.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through edge rusher. The cost of the Bisontis reach is exactly the players who went right after him.
Job largely done: interior defensive lineman settled and 4 of 8 of the wish list covered.
Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 22 they get a pocket-collapsing interior rusher. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
A premium they did not need to pay, Chase Bisontis a notch or two before his time. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
They let Kamari Ramsey come to them and pounced at No. 86. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Steal is underselling it; Ja'Kobi Lane at pick No. 123 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Dallen Bentley at Round 6, Pick 23 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the tight end. The roster fit checks out.
