When the story of this class is written, it opens with Logan Fano at slot 210, a reach of 48 spots that the board flatly disagrees with. No fireworks, but a solid B-.
Masses falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.
On the needs board they went 5 of 8, with wide receiver the one that mattered most. The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the quarterback spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 9 they get a double-digit-sack hope. A real need, handled.
In the Round 1 slot they get a moveable chess piece at tight end, outstanding value to boot. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
By-the-book stuff, Joshua Josephs at the 40th overall pick squarely in line with his ranking. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Emmett Johnson at pick 74 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
De'Zhaun Stribling at the 109th pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
The board had Hezekiah Masses higher than No. 148, and the cornerback fell to them anyway. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Nate Boerkircher at slot 169. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
A reasonable price with a little left over, Ar'maj Reed-Adams in pick No. 176. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Logan Fano in No. 210 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
