Everything else got attention, and edge rusher got none. That is a strange way for the Packers to leave a draft.
The Parker II pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. Allen at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the edge rusher spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
A tidy little value on D'Angelo Ponds in slot 52, a step better than break-even. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
They reached into another round for Brian Parker II, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. The roster fit checks out.
Gracen Halton in No. 120 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
The board had Kaytron Allen higher than Round 5, Pick 20, and the running back fell to them anyway. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Eric McAlister at the 201st overall pick is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Josh Cuevas at the Round 7 slot is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
A market-rate safety, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Robert Spears-Jennings. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
