The rest of the league will want that one back. CJ Allen tumbling to the Rams in pick No. 61 is a gift they did not have to think twice about. It nets out to a B-, which feels about right.
They are betting Bell proves the room right and everyone else wrong. Leaving wide receiver unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.
Good work on the whole, with wide receiver the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 13 they get a ballhawk on the outside. More want than need.
They will replay CJ Allen at the Round 2 slot for years; that is how good the value is. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Markel Bell at pick No. 93 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Dae'Quan Wright at No. 207 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
A market-rate safety, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Xavier Nwankpa. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Diego Pavia slid further than he should have, and the 251st pick is lovely value for the quarterback. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
They read the board right and Terion Stewart was the payoff at Round 7, Pick 36. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
