The Texans did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Nick Emmanwori fell into the 58th overall pick.
They lost the exchange badly enough to drag the whole class down. That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
The verdict is a shrug for now, with the swing picks left to write the real ending.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 25 they get a run-stuffing presence up front, and a steal at that. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Taking Nick Emmanwori in pick No. 58 is close to grand larceny; a safety that good had no business lasting this long. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
