Call it larceny. Quinyon Mitchell sat on the board until No. 54, and the Eagles did not need to be asked twice. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B+.
They punted on edge rusher, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. If Clark pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about.
The dealing nudged the ledger their way without much fuss. The roster is better shaped than it was, with cornerback chief among the fixes.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the edge rusher spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 22 they get a ballhawk on the outside, outstanding value to boot. The biggest hole, addressed.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Tyler Guyton at the 50th overall pick. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Quinyon Mitchell at the 54th pick is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
A quiet steal in pick No. 97: Jalen McMillan for less than the market said. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Tommy Eichenberg slid further than he should have, and the Round 5 slot is lovely value for the linebacker. It adds depth where they could use a little.
