The war room fell hard for Tip Reiman, and it showed at pick No. 172: 52 picks ahead of a board that had other ideas. The process wobbled, and the D+ is where it lands.
The trade table is where this weekend went wrong. A whole weekend of picks and quarterback is somehow still a want.
Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and quarterback is still a hole.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 32 they get a weapon on the perimeter. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
No edge and no loss on T'Vondre Sweat in Round 2, Pick 11; it is a wash and a sensible one. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
A reach on Kris Abrams-Draine in pick No. 64; the board had better options right there. A minor itch, scratched.
Javon Baker at No. 95 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
They paid up for Roger Rosengarten at the 133rd pick when waiting would have done the job. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Malik Mustapha at pick 158 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
They reached into another round for Tip Reiman, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
