The Chiefs did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Johnny Dixon fell into No. 243.

They punted on tight end, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. They are betting Nugent proves the room right and everyone else wrong. A modest surplus at the table, banked quietly.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
