The Packers looked at the value chart, folded it up, and took Myles Cole at Round 5, Pick 33 regardless, 28 picks early.
A whole weekend of picks and quarterback is somehow still a want. Job largely done: edge rusher settled and 4 of 8 of the wish list covered.
Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a press-man option on the boundary. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Edgerrin Cooper in slot 41 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Kiran Amegadjie at Round 2, Pick 26 is a conviction pick that outran the value. A need, and now a little less of one.
A straight-up fair deal on Dadrion Taylor-Demerson at the 88th overall pick, value and slot in agreement. A minor itch, scratched.
Khyree Jackson at pick 91 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
They paid sticker price for Isaac Guerendo in the 126th pick, and that is fine. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Value said wait; Myles Cole in pick 169 says they were not listening. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
A reach for Nathaniel Watson in No. 202; a little patience would have been rewarded. A want more than a need, though you can never have too many.
They jumped the gun on Tylan Grable, taking him earlier than his grade liked. The roster fit checks out.
Jalen Sundell in the 245th pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Trey Taylor at slot 255 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
