The Vikings' one glaring miss is safety, a need they left exactly as they found it. More right than wrong, and a B- to match.
On value alone, Magee makes the weekend a net positive. Quarterback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 11 they get juice off the edge. Exactly the need they had to hit.
They did well to land Quinyon Mitchell in the 42nd overall pick, just ahead of his grade. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
They took Blake Fisher at par in No. 108, which is nothing to complain about. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Shemar Turner in Round 4, Pick 30 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
They paid sticker price for Darius Robinson in the 148th pick, and that is fine. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Fair-plus on Ainias Smith, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
No edge and no loss on Frank Gore Jr. in the Round 5 slot; it is a wash and a sensible one. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
By-the-book stuff, Sam Hartman at slot 179 squarely in line with his ranking. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Jordan Magee at No. 230. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
