The value of the weekend has a name and a slot: Jarrian Jones, the Round 6 slot, roughly 36 picks past where he belonged. Good, not great, and the B says as much.
The interior defensive lineman spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. The hoard sets up next April more than it helps this September.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 9 they get a difference-maker at receiver. Exactly the need they had to hit.
A clean, defensible pick in slot 39 with a little surplus value in Ja'Tavion Sanders. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Payton Wilson at pick No. 47 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Blake Fisher at No. 70 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
You do not let a cornerback like Khyree Jackson reach pick 108 and blink. They did not. A need, and now a little less of one.
They read the board right and Johnny Wilson was the payoff at the Round 5 slot. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
A cornerback of that caliber at the 185th overall pick is the definition of value, full stop. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
