When a board-topper like Ted Hurst slides to No. 120, you do not overthink it, and the Packers did not. The bottom line is a respectable B.
Every board in the league had Carmona lower, and that gap is the story. They punted on edge rusher, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.
Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
They let Keith Abney II come to them and pounced at slot 52. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Christen Miller in Round 3, Pick 20 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Ted Hurst in No. 120 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
A quiet steal in pick 160: Charles Demmings for less than the market said. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Jeff Caldwell slid further than he should have, and the 201st pick is lovely value for the wide receiver. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
They liked Trey Zuhn III enough to skip the value, taking him in pick No. 236. It fills a real need, too.
