Everything else got attention, and quarterback got none. That is a strange way for the Packers to leave a draft.
If one pick saves this weekend, it is Morgan. The Wilson pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over.
Small wins on the phones, but wins all the same. Edge rusher was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 25 they get a two-high chess piece at fair value. Need was not the driver here.
Jordan Morgan in the 41st overall pick is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Payton Wilson in the 64th pick is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
They went early on Trey Benson in pick No. 69, and the value did not follow. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Christian Haynes at the Round 3 slot is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Braelon Allen in Round 3, Pick 37 is fair value, right on his grade. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Cam Hart at pick 128 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Beaux Limmer at slot 132 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
They paid sticker price for Shemar Turner in No. 134, and that is fine. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
No drama and no debate, Zion Nelson went about where he belonged in pick No. 203. The roster fit checks out.
