The war room fell hard for Xavier Worthy, and it showed at pick 26: 30 picks ahead of a board that had other ideas. It lands right in the middle: a C-, no more, no less.
The trade table is where this weekend went wrong. They punted on quarterback, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.
In the end, a coin-flip class: fine today, with a wide range of outcomes ahead.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 26 they get a go-to option on the outside, though the board says they badly overpaid. The biggest hole, addressed.
By-the-book stuff, T'Vondre Sweat at Round 2, Pick 11 squarely in line with his ranking. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
A clean, defensible pick in pick No. 64 with a little surplus value in Kingsley Suamataia. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
They paid sticker price for Cam Hart in slot 95, and that is fine. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Malik Mustapha. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Ben Sinnott at the 133rd overall pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
A straight-up fair deal on Luke McCaffrey at the Round 5 slot, value and slot in agreement. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
No edge and no loss on Ty'Ron Hopper in No. 172; it is a wash and a sensible one. A need, and now a little less of one.
A market-rate edge rusher, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Eric Watts. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
