The phones were a trap the Chiefs kept walking into, shipping out surplus on nearly every deal. The board pushed back all weekend, and the D is the result.
Reaching for Milton III left real value on the table behind him. That tight end hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. They are betting the present roster is worth a lighter draft next spring.
The Rashid Shaheed pickup adds a known quantity to a class of unknowns.

Fair-plus on Keon Coleman, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
No drama and no debate, Kris Jenkins went about where he belonged in slot 42. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
