Green Bay Packers

The steal of the weekend belongs to the Packers and Davis: B.

The Packers did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Isaiah Davis fell into the 245th overall pick. They moved the roster forward and banked a B for it.

The cost of the Liufau reach is exactly the players who went right after him. The edge rusher hole is the one line item this class does not answer.

Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.25 · Pick 25 · Quinyon Mitchell · CB · rank 16
In the 25th pick they get a ballhawk on the outside, and a steal at that. Exactly the need they had to hit.
R2.9 · Pick 41 · Olumuyiwa Fashanu · OT · rank 8
Olumuyiwa Fashanu at slot 41 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
R2.26 · Pick 58 · Graham Barton · OT · rank 25
Graham Barton at pick No. 58 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
R3.25 · Pick 88 · Jaylen Wright · RB · rank 59
Jaylen Wright in the 88th overall pick is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
R3.28 · Pick 91 · Jaden Hicks · S · rank 62
They barely believed it either: Jaden Hicks still on the board at pick 91. A minor need, but a need all the same.
R4.26 · Pick 126 · Marist Liufau · LB · rank 164
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Marist Liufau. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
R5.33 · Pick 169 · Jordan Jefferson · DT · rank 172
Jordan Jefferson in the Round 5 slot is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It fills a real need, too.
R6.27 · Pick 202 · Kitan Oladapo · S · rank 142
Kitan Oladapo in Round 6, Pick 27 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
R6.44 · Pick 219 · Garret Greenfield · OT · rank 229
They paid up for Garret Greenfield at pick No. 219 when waiting would have done the job. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
R7.25 · Pick 245 · Isaiah Davis · RB · rank 155
Steal is underselling it; Isaiah Davis at pick 245 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
R7.35 · Pick 255 · Nick Gargiulo · C · rank 265
The board had cheaper options than Nick Gargiulo at the 255th overall pick, and it noticed. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
