The Packers did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Isaiah Davis fell into the 245th overall pick. They moved the roster forward and banked a B for it.
The cost of the Liufau reach is exactly the players who went right after him. The edge rusher hole is the one line item this class does not answer.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 25th pick they get a ballhawk on the outside, and a steal at that. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Olumuyiwa Fashanu at slot 41 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Graham Barton at pick No. 58 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Jaylen Wright in the 88th overall pick is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
They barely believed it either: Jaden Hicks still on the board at pick 91. A minor need, but a need all the same.
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Marist Liufau. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Jordan Jefferson in the Round 5 slot is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It fills a real need, too.
Kitan Oladapo in Round 6, Pick 27 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
They paid up for Garret Greenfield at pick No. 219 when waiting would have done the job. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Steal is underselling it; Isaiah Davis at pick 245 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
The board had cheaper options than Nick Gargiulo at the 255th overall pick, and it noticed. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
