The one they had to fix is still broken. The Bears left edge rusher untouched, and that omission hangs over an otherwise reasonable haul.
The Hunter value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. Every board in the league had Rodriguez lower, and that gap is the story.
They went 4 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.
Pick-by-Pick
Nothing to complain about; Sonny Styles went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Lee Hunter is a better player than the 57th overall pick suggests; smart patience, rewarded. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
They jumped the gun on Jacob Rodriguez, taking him earlier than his grade liked. It fills a real need, too.
They took Logan Jones at par in the Round 3 slot, which is nothing to complain about. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
A reasonable price with a little left over, Bryce Lance in pick No. 96. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
