This is the pick they will still be bragging about in July: Brian Thomas Jr., the No. 27 name on the board, stolen at pick No. 58.
That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. They are betting Bortolini proves the room right and everyone else wrong.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 25th overall pick they get a press-man option on the boundary at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Graham Barton is a better player than Round 2, Pick 9 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Brian Thomas Jr. in slot 58 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It fills a real need, too.
A clean, defensible pick in pick No. 88 with a little surplus value in Michael Hall Jr.. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
They paid a round early for Cole Bishop in pick 91, more than the board wanted. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
No edge and no loss on Isaac Guerendo in the 126th pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
