Somebody in pick 115 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Ravens sat still while Connor Lew, the No. 82 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium. No fireworks, but a solid B.
They punted on interior defensive lineman, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. The future picks help the war chest more than the win-now roster. They gave back a little on the phones for the right to move.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but interior defensive lineman.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 23 they get a long-term starter on the line. Exactly the need they had to hit.
In pick No. 26 they get a green-dot type in the middle, and a steal at that. Need was not the driver here.
Connor Lew at slot 115 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Circle this one: Jalon Kilgore at No. 126 is a fall that decides a draft. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
They took CJ Daniels at par in pick 136, which is nothing to complain about. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
They barely believed it either: Eli Raridon still on the board at the 154th pick. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Isaiah World at the 162nd overall pick is the proof. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Jeff Caldwell at the Round 6 slot. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
