There is a lot to like until you notice wide receiver is still a hole. The 49ers never got to the one that mattered most.

They will need Lomu to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. The trade work was a quiet net positive. The roster is better shaped than it was, with offensive lineman chief among the fixes.

Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
