The one they had to fix is still broken. The Chargers left edge rusher untouched, and that omission hangs over an otherwise reasonable haul. A mixed bag that lands at C+.
The Jackson Jr. reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. Interior defensive lineman is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it. Nothing gained and nothing lost at the table.
It grades out a shrug today, with plenty of room to move either way.
Pick-by-Pick
They jumped the gun on Emmanuel Pregnon, taking him earlier than his grade liked. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
A.J. Haulcy at pick 55 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Darrell Jackson Jr. at the 86th overall pick is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
