They will call it conviction in the building and a reach everywhere else: Sam Hecht, 29 picks early at slot 57.

For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain. Landing Haulcy that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. The roster is better shaped than it was, with interior defensive lineman chief among the fixes.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the edge rusher spot they never got to.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.25 · Pick 25 · Kayden McDonald · DT · rank 19
In the Round 1 slot they get an anchor for the defensive front. The biggest hole, addressed.
R2.25 · Pick 57 · Sam Hecht · C · rank 86
A big swing on Sam Hecht at Round 2, Pick 25, well ahead of any board in the building. The roster fit checks out.
R2.28 · Pick 60 · A.J. Haulcy · S · rank 50
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing A.J. Haulcy in pick No. 60. A minor need, but a need all the same.
R3.25 · Pick 89 · Bryce Lance · WR · rank 91
They took Bryce Lance at par in the 89th overall pick, which is nothing to complain about. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
