Whoever sat across the table from the Dolphins should ask for a receipt. They cleaned the room out, prying loose far more value than they gave up, and it was the quiet MVP of their weekend. It does the job without flash, and the B+ reflects it.
The Baker pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch. A whole weekend of picks and quarterback is somehow still a want.
Wide receiver is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Troy Fautanu in the 38th pick. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
By-the-book stuff, Jackson Powers-Johnson at Round 2, Pick 22 squarely in line with his ranking. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Mekhi Wingo at pick 66 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
They paid sticker price for Cedric Gray in the 133rd overall pick, and that is fine. It fills a real need, too.
Kitan Oladapo at pick No. 159 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Steal is underselling it; Javon Baker at slot 200 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Matthew Jones in No. 243 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
