Nobody else had Julius Welschof anywhere near No. 247. The Texans did, by 82 spots, and that gap is the whole story. It washes out to a C+, no better and no worse.

They won the margins on every swap, and it adds up fast. The Wilson value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere.

Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. They went 7 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.

If Kamari Lassiter and a couple of the gambles land, hindsight will be kinder than this grade.
