B-
Washington Commanders
No fireworks, just a tidy B- for the Commanders.

2025 NFL Draft
· 7 picks
· 3 steals
· 3 reaches
You can hear the double-takes from here. The Commanders took David Bailey at the 79th pick, roughly 66 spots before his name belonged.
Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Gordon II. They punted on tight end, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. On the needs board they went 4 of 8, with wide receiver the one that mattered most.
A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 29th overall pick they get a rangy last line of defense, and a steal at that. More want than need.
Isaiah Bond in the 61st pick lands just on the right side of the ledger. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
They reached into another round for David Bailey, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
They paid up for Logan Brown at pick 148 when waiting would have done the job. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Circle this one: Ollie Gordon II at pick No. 207 is a fall that decides a draft. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Hunter Wohler in No. 238 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. A want more than a need, though you can never have too many.
LaJohntay Wester slipping to slot 250 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
