The Cowboys clearly saw something nobody else did in Dwight McGlothern, taking him 38 picks ahead of his grade. The board is not convinced. More right than wrong, and a B to match.
On value alone, Sinnott makes the weekend a net positive. The wide receiver hole is the one line item this class does not answer.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the wide receiver spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get protection for the quarterback. Exactly the need they had to hit.
They paid sticker price for Jeremiah Trotter Jr. in pick No. 56, and that is fine. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
The board had Christian Haynes higher than Round 3, Pick 24, and the offensive lineman fell to them anyway. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
No drama and no debate, Justin Eboigbe went about where he belonged in the 125th pick. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
They will replay Ben Sinnott at No. 173 for years; that is how good the value is. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Michael Barrett at the 213th overall pick is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Dwight McGlothern. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
