The Cowboys spent the weekend waiting on one name, and it fell: Dontay Corleone, the No. 68 name on the board, in No. 92.

The wide receiver spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. Cornerback was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job. Nearly every premium pick went to that side of the ball.

A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.12 · Pick 12 · Arvell Reese · LB · rank 7
In pick 12 they get the heartbeat of the defense. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
R1.20 · Pick 20 · Sonny Styles · LB · rank 21
In slot 20 they get a coverage-and-run second-level piece at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
R3.28 · Pick 92 · Dontay Corleone · DT · rank 68
You do not let an interior defensive lineman like Dontay Corleone reach No. 92 and blink. They did not. The roster fit checks out.
R4.12 · Pick 112 · Malik Muhammad · CB · rank 95
Malik Muhammad at Round 4, Pick 12 is money in the bank, a cornerback taken below his worth. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
R5.12 · Pick 152 · Kaytron Allen · RB · rank 143
The board had Kaytron Allen higher than the Round 5 slot, and the running back fell to them anyway. A need, and now a little less of one.
R5.37 · Pick 177 · Keagen Trost · OT · rank 178
No drama and no debate, Keagen Trost went about where he belonged in the 177th overall pick. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
R5.40 · Pick 180 · Ephesians Prysock · CB · rank 182
Ephesians Prysock at pick No. 180 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
R7.2 · Pick 218 · Jaren Kanak · TE · rank 225
They took Jaren Kanak at par in the 218th pick, which is nothing to complain about. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
