Some picks age like wine; David Bailey at the 79th pick will need to, sitting 64 spots clear of his grade. More right than wrong, and a B- to match.
The Gordon II value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. They will regret leaving wide receiver for another day if the season turns on it.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but wide receiver.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 29 they get a centerfielder for the defense at a price that makes it sweeter.
A real head-scratcher, Mason Taylor in the 61st overall pick is miles ahead of his ranking. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
This one needs a full-page explanation: David Bailey in the Round 3 slot, miles early. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
A reach for Logan Brown in the 148th pick; a little patience would have been rewarded. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Ollie Gordon II in slot 207 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
They paid a round early for Hunter Wohler in pick 238, more than the board wanted. Depth on depth, at a spot that was hardly crying out.
Marcus Yarns at the 250th overall pick is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
