Thirty-one other rooms let Sheridan Jones slide, and the Chargers were the ones holding the card at the Round 7 slot. Highway robbery. Call it a sensible B+, earned the boring way.
The edge rusher hole is the one line item this class does not answer. The Frazier reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. Adding Najee Harris by trade rounds out the weekend beyond the rookies.
On the needs board they went 5 of 8, with interior defensive lineman the one that mattered most.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 20 they get a ballhawk on the outside. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Nice patience on Brian Thomas Jr., who had no business lasting to pick 37. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
They liked Zach Frazier enough to skip the value, taking him in Round 2, Pick 19. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Junior Colson slid further than he should have, and slot 69 is lovely value for the linebacker. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
