The tape said wait; the Packers did not. McCallan Castles went at Round 6, Pick 26, a good 122 picks before the board was ready.

Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. Guyton at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster.

So much rides on Graham Barton that the real verdict is a season or two away.
