The best pick of the weekend was also the simplest. The Dolphins watched Ro Torrence slide 63 picks past his grade and did not hesitate. The bottom line is a respectable B+.

They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through quarterback. The Allen pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over.

In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.31 · Pick 31 · Kool-Aid McKinstry · CB · rank 28
In the 31st pick they get a press-man option on the boundary at fair value.
R2.23 · Pick 55 · Kingsley Suamataia · OT · rank 56
By-the-book stuff, Kingsley Suamataia at Round 2, Pick 23 squarely in line with his ranking. A need, and now a little less of one.
R2.31 · Pick 63 · Xavier Worthy · WR · rank 66
They took Xavier Worthy at par in slot 63, which is nothing to complain about. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
R3.24 · Pick 87 · Braelon Allen · RB · rank 108
Braelon Allen at pick 87 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
R4.8 · Pick 108 · Sataoa Laumea · OT · rank 115
Sataoa Laumea in the 108th overall pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
R5.22 · Pick 158 · Isaiah Adams · OT · rank 138
Isaiah Adams at No. 158 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
R6.9 · Pick 184 · Fabien Lovett · DL · rank 183
Fabien Lovett in pick No. 184 is fair value, right on his grade. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
R6.23 · Pick 198 · Curtis Jacobs · LB · rank 197
They paid sticker price for Curtis Jacobs in the Round 6 slot, and that is fine. The roster fit checks out.
R6.40 · Pick 215 · Steele Chambers · LB · rank 199
A tidy bit of business in the 215th pick, where Steele Chambers graded well above the range. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
R7.12 · Pick 232 · Erick All · TE · rank 204
Somehow Erick All was still sitting there in the 232nd overall pick, and they pounced on premier tight end value. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
R7.21 · Pick 241 · Ro Torrence · CB · rank 178
Ro Torrence in the Round 7 slot is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. They doubled down on a strength rather than a need.
R7.31 · Pick 251 · M.J. Devonshire · CB · rank 191
You do not let a cornerback like M.J. Devonshire reach Round 7, Pick 31 and blink. They did not. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
