Boards are made to be trusted, and the Cowboys shredded theirs for Zion Logue. He came off 53 spots early, and the room will hear about it.
Getting Morgan where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. They will regret leaving quarterback for another day if the season turns on it. Wide receiver is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
The skill positions did well by the weekend.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 24 they get a true top target. The biggest hole, addressed.
A offensive lineman of that caliber at the 56th pick is the definition of value, full stop. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
They paid sticker price for Khyree Jackson in Round 3, Pick 24, and that is fine. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Jaylan Ford at No. 174 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
They paid up for Frank Gore Jr. at pick No. 216 when waiting would have done the job. A need, and now a little less of one.
Zion Logue at the Round 7 slot is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
They paid a round early for Miyan Williams in slot 244, more than the board wanted. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
