It is the swing that defines the weekend: Kedon Slovis in the 244th pick, a good 61 spots before the room expected him. For now it grades a C, with the swing picks left to settle the rest.
They lost the exchange badly enough to drag the whole class down. Leaving tight end unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. On value alone, Hart makes the weekend a net positive.
The verdict is a shrug for now, with the swing picks left to write the real ending.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a difference-maker at receiver. The biggest hole, addressed.
Patrick Paul in pick 56 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Trey Benson in the 87th pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A need, and now a little less of one.
They let Cam Hart come to them and pounced at Round 4, Pick 11. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
They jumped the gun on Tommy Eichenberg, taking him earlier than his grade liked. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
A conviction pick on Tanor Bortolini at the 174th overall pick that the board grades a round light. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
They took Keith Randolph Jr. at par in pick No. 216, which is nothing to complain about. A minor need, but a need all the same.
A big swing on Zion Logue at the Round 7 slot, well ahead of any board in the building. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
They reached into another round for Kedon Slovis, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. It fills a real need, too.
