The Cowboys bet big and early on Carter Bradley, 26 picks ahead of the board. Bold does not always mean right. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B-.
They punted on offensive lineman, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. However the rest shakes out, Gore Jr. at that price is a win they earned.
The roster is better shaped than it was, with wide receiver chief among the fixes.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but offensive lineman.
Pick-by-Pick
They liked Keon Coleman enough to skip the value, taking him in Round 1, Pick 24. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
T'Vondre Sweat is a better player than pick 56 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
A tidy little value on Khyree Jackson in the 87th overall pick, a step better than break-even. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Fair-plus on Dillon Johnson, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. It fills a real need, too.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Curtis Jacobs at the Round 6 slot. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Carter Bradley at the 231st pick is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
They barely believed it either: Frank Gore Jr. still on the board at the 242nd pick. A need, and now a little less of one.
