The weekend has a hole in the middle of it named quarterback, a need the Browns walked right past. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B-.
Boston at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. They will need Mesidor to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.
Job largely done: edge rusher settled and 3 of 9 of the wish list covered. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 6 they get a building block for the line. A clean fit for the roster.
In pick 24 they get a quarterback's worst nightmare, even if it was a touch early. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Nice patience on Denzel Boston, who had no business lasting to the 39th overall pick. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
