Thirty-one other rooms let Arvell Reese slide, and the Bills were the ones holding the card at Round 1, Pick 26. Highway robbery.
They will need Jatta to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. For all the activity, interior defensive lineman went untouched, which is hard to explain. They went 4 of 9 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 26 they get a green-dot type in the middle, outstanding value to boot. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Nice patience on Elijah Sarratt, who had no business lasting to the 91st overall pick. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
The board had Davison Igbinosun higher than Round 4, Pick 26, and the cornerback fell to them anyway. It adds depth where they could use a little.
A straight-up fair deal on Louis Moore at pick No. 165, value and slot in agreement. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
They took Febechi Nwaiwu at par in the Round 5 slot, which is nothing to complain about. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Red Murdock in pick 182 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Isaiah Jatta in No. 220 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
