Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Buccaneers cashed the board's mistake on Golday: B-.

The Buccaneers did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Jake Golday fell into the 116th overall pick.

The cost of the Moten reach is exactly the players who went right after him. They will regret leaving tight end for another day if the season turns on it.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.15 · Pick 15 · Olaivavega Ioane · OG · rank 22
In the Round 1 slot they get a long-term starter on the line at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
R2.14 · Pick 46 · Lee Hunter · DT · rank 48
No edge and no loss on Lee Hunter in pick 46; it is a wash and a sensible one. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
R3.13 · Pick 77 · Jacob Rodriguez · LB · rank 73
Jacob Rodriguez in the 77th pick is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
R4.16 · Pick 116 · Jake Golday · OLB · rank 59
Jake Golday in No. 116 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A need, and now a little less of one.
R5.15 · Pick 155 · Zxavian Harris · DT · rank 154
Zxavian Harris in slot 155 is fair value, right on his grade. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
R6.14 · Pick 195 · Keyshaun Elliott · LB · rank 213
They reached a country mile for Keyshaun Elliott at the 195th overall pick, and the board is aghast. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
R7.13 · Pick 229 · Josh Moten · CB · rank 263
This one needs a full-page explanation: Josh Moten in pick No. 229, miles early. The roster fit checks out.
