You could see the war room lean forward. DJ Giddens at Round 7, Pick 32 is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did. No fireworks, but a solid B-.
The cost of the Bailey reach is exactly the players who went right after him. The wide receiver spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but wide receiver.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 29th overall pick they get a downhill hitter at safety, and a steal at that. Need was not the driver here.
Mason Taylor in the Round 2 slot is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
They reached a country mile for David Bailey at pick 79, and the board is aghast. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Logan Brown at Round 5, Pick 9 is a conviction pick that outran the value. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Nothing to complain about; Jack Kiser went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
A conviction pick on Hunter Wohler at No. 238 that the board grades a round light. They doubled down on a strength rather than a need.
A top-tier running back at a bargain, DJ Giddens in the 250th pick, plain and simple. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
