Every swap seemed to tilt away from the Eagles, and the value they bled adds up to real damage.
They will regret leaving interior defensive lineman for another day if the season turns on it. Landing Oladapo that late papers over a lot of smaller sins.
They left with cornerback solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off. The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
Not a disaster, not a triumph, just a middling class.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 18 they get a disruptor off the edge at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
In slot 19 they get a quarterback's worst nightmare. The biggest hole, addressed.
They paid sticker price for T.J. Tampa in the 50th overall pick, and that is fine. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
They took Jalen McMillan at par in Round 3, Pick 34, which is nothing to complain about. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Fair-plus on AJ Barner, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. A need, and now a little less of one.
A clean, defensible pick in the Round 5 slot with a little surplus value in Isaiah Davis. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
A tidy bit of business in the 171st pick, where Kitan Oladapo graded well above the range. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
A straight-up fair deal on Cornelius Johnson at pick No. 189, value and slot in agreement. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
