Nobody had Justin Eboigbe this high, and it is not close. The Patriots reached 31 spots to get him at No. 118.
Landing Brooks that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. The interior defensive lineman hole is the one line item this class does not answer.
The Jermaine Eluemunor pickup adds a known quantity to a class of unknowns.
A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 13 they get a blindside protector. A real need, handled.
Value with a capital V on Brian Thomas Jr. in No. 34, a genuine coup. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Nothing to complain about; Chris Braswell went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Jonathon Brooks in Round 3, Pick 4 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Javon Foster at pick 104 is a conviction pick that outran the value. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Justin Eboigbe in the 118th overall pick is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Dylan Laube at pick No. 136 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. It fills a real need, too.
Value said wait; Erick All in the 182nd overall pick says they were not listening. A need, and now a little less of one.
JD Bertrand at slot 229 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
This one needs a full-page explanation: Joshua Cephus in Round 7, Pick 12, miles early. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
