Every other box got a look, but quarterback did not. The Chiefs will head to camp with the same hole they walked in with. More right than wrong, and a B to match.
That is an offensive lineman worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. They left with wide receiver solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off. Almost all the early capital went to that side of the ball.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the quarterback spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Troy Fautanu at No. 32 is the proof. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
No edge and no loss on Devontez Walker in pick 64; it is a wash and a sensible one. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Trey Benson at Round 3, Pick 32 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Fair-plus on Ben Sinnott, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
They took Dwight McGlothern at par in the 159th overall pick, which is nothing to complain about. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Layden Robinson. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Bub Means at the 252nd pick nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
